We had a large, complex flooring project: ripping out all the old carpet, installing new hardwood throughout, and refinishing the existing hardwood. The scope also included the stairs, stair nose, and handrails. What stood out to us was the coordination. I have nothing but great things to say about Oakerds. I got LVP installed over very old wood floors. I was pleasantly suprised with how seamless the flooring project was because I was prepared for the worst. When you have an old house, you are always prepared to encounter new issues that are discovered by people working on the house. I did not experience that with Oakerds! I had several quotes from many flooring companies, who gave me an upcharge for every small issues they "might" encounter on the job. Some parts of my house are higher than other parts, and some parts of my original wood floors were missing. Unlike other companies, Alex from Oakerds came in and inspected the job and gave me a quote that did not change! No upcharges, they did the best job they could for a decent price. And they finished the job within one day! I am writing this reveiw 6 months after my LVP was installed and I am so happy with how they have kept up. Great quaility material and good honest pricing.

The installation crew came out the morning of install, they didn’t know all of the rooms I was quoted for, had no clue what they were supposed to do. When I spoke to the owner about it, he claim it was my fault and the spaces wasn’t ready for install, then directed his crew to leave. The only item we had in the rooms was a bed which we were going to move in that moment.

When I tried to discuss the price of the estimate [REMOVED] the owner became irate and started cussing me out. How do you expect to be a successful business person when you cuss out your clients for going over the pricing estimate to explain where they think the install that can be done by 2 people is one day is close to $3,000 for a small 1BR condominium. Unfortunately he is also a neighbor in the same building. He seems to be desperate for money and I can see why when he has no respect for his customers. I can see why he has such a low rating by the BBB. Cussing out people when you disagree with them is not acceptable.

This initiated my search for a refinishing company. I also had deep gouges in another room from using rented metal chairs for a party. Alex and his staff were very pleasant to work with. The finished floors are flawless and gleaming. No traces of damage left. I have to give this process 3 stars because the residual dust and smell has rendered the house uninhabitable. The cost for air duct cleaning, hired house cleaning and hotel stay has exceeded the cost of the refinishing job. The floors are beautiful but be mindful of the added cost to return the house to livable conditions.

All I can say is WOW! I partnered with Alex and the Oakerds team to resurface and stain all the old hardwood floors in my home. My expectations were low given that the hardwood floors in the home I purchased had cupping, scratches, sun spots, traffic wear and even burn marks! Alex’s crew came in and sanded all the existing floors, then provided 3 stain samples on day one so I could see how each stain would look on my specific hardwoods. I went with Provincial with a satin finish. When I entered the home on day two after the job was done, I literally said WOW! The floors look BRAND NEW - no more cupping, no scratches, the burn marks are barely visible given the new darker stain, and the satin finish is the perfect balance between shiny and matte. Of all the extensive repairs I am doing to update the house, this one flooring job is by far delivering the best price/value. For all these reasons, I can highly recommend Alex and Oakerds Flooring if you are planning to update and/or restore your hardwood floors!

As a residential property manager, Alex is my go-to guy for almost all of my flooring needs. He seems to be one of the few vendors that can give me quality work, for a great price, in a timely fashion. He's done hardwoods, carpet, LVT and plain old vinyl and it's always been a good experience. On one occasion, a week after they installed LVT flooring in a Roswell home, the HVAC condensation line flooded a bedroom and adjoining hallway. Alex had his crew careful pull up the new floor, so we could dry the area, and then they re-installed the floor again for a nominal fee. The quality was great on the hardwood, tile and carpet install. The customer service was unbelievable. He response time was exceptionally fast anytime we had questions.
